Virginia Bryant McWhorter, 84, of Brockman Drive, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home.

Born in Greenville County , she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Sara Griffin and step mother, Sophia H. Bryant.

Mrs. McWhorter was a travel agent and member of Easley First Baptist Church and the Friendship Club. She also Chaired The Diabetes Support Group at Easley Baptist Hospital.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Charles F. McWhorter, Sr.; her children, Charles F. "Chuck" McWhorter, Jr. (Peggy Batson McWhorter) of Myrtle Beach, David McWhorter (Denise Green McWhorter) of Taylors and Pamela McWhorter Dobson ( Brian Dobson) of Easley; eight grandchildren, Shannon McWhorter, Chad McWhorter, Jason McWhorter, Katie McWhorter Reed, Emily Dobson, Anna McWhorter, Sarah Dobson and Luke McWhorter; and six great grandchildren, Cameron McWhorter, Peyton McWhorter, Kylie McWhorter, Braden McWhorter, Maddox McWhorter and Lillian Reed.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Stephen Bradley McWhorter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Easley First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM in the narthex of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easley First Baptist Church, 300 E. First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.

The family will be at 414 Providence Way, Easley, SC 29642.
