W. Roy Ellison

William Roy Ellison, Jr, 86, of Greenville and husband to Camille Strother Ellison, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his home.
Roy was born in Easley, SC to the late William Roy and Catherine Tollison Ellison. He was currently a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Greenville. Roy was a proud US Army Veteran, retiring from the US Army Reserve after over 30 years of service. He was also an avid Clemson Tigers fan, and he and Camille enjoyed many years of tailgating with family and friends, and watching his beloved Tigers play football.
In addition to his military service, Roy enjoyed a career as an Advertising and Marketing Executive, and retired from R.L. Bryan & Co. in Greenville.
Roy loved his family, and cherished Camille and their 61 years of marriage. In addition to Camille, he is survived by his children, Christopher Allen Ellison, Karen Ellison Erwin (Pat), and William Kevin Ellison, all of Greenville; his brother, Alfred Allen Ellison (Barbara), of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Catherine Camille Erwin (fiancé, Adriaan Bouwer) of Warsaw, PL, Mary Dallas Erwin (James Harrelson, Jr.) of Alvin, TX, and Ryan Elizabeth Erwin (fiancé, William Skach) of Greenville, and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22nd at 2:00PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC with Pastor Mary Teasley officiating. Entombment will be private.
Family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Clemson University Foundation, Attn: Cadet Corps, in memory of Col. W. Roy Ellison, Jr. '51, P.O.
