William Randall “Parn” aka “The Legend” Martin, 75, lifelong resident of the Clemson Community, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 following surgery in Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Randy was born in Anderson, SC, a son of the late William A. “Bill” and Juanita Whitt Martin. He was a 1968 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and graduated from Anderson Junior College and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Wesleyan College, now known as Southern Wesleyan University.
Parn, as most of his friends and relatives knew him, was always seen with a smile on his face and was always willing to laugh and share stories of his exploits, many of which were made even funnier because they were self deprecating. He enjoyed calling himself “The Legend” knowing it would bring a smile to everyone who heard him.
For years Randy worked with Nabisco and was affectionately known as “the cookie Salesman.” Following his retirement from Nabisco due to health issues, he began working at Cook Out in Clemson. He thoroughly enjoyed his time working with the Clemson students and being the elder of the staff.
Surviving are his wife and partner, Terri Wright Martin of the home; son, Chad Martin and his wife, Loren of Dallas, GA; daughter, Amanda Martin of Terlingua, TX, step-son, Jeremy Spinks and his wife, Jamie of Acworth, GA; brother, Jimmy Martin and his wife, Kim of Greer, SC; sisters, Marlene Wheeler and her husband, Dean of Leesville, SC and Kathy Martin Pollard of Seneca; sister-in-law, Leila Martin; grandchildren, Devin Martin, Joshua and Jaycelyn Spinks and Kayle Spinks; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Martin; and brother, Tony Martin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2:20 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Zion UMC in Central, SC.
In keeping with the wishes of the family and at the request of the “Legend” please come to celebrate the life of Randy “Parn” Martin dressed as if you were coming to a tail gate party.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Also at the request of the “Legend” following the committal service there will be a hotdog social at 107 Robin Street, Clemson, SC 29631 and everyone is invited.
