Walter Murphy Moseley, 72, husband of Fran Cook Moseley passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
Murphy was born in Anderson, SC a son of the late John Zeph and Elizabeth Murphy Moseley. He was a graduate of Hannah High School and earned an associate degree in electronics from Tri County Tech. Murphy was proud to serve his country as a Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy. His love for his country and his respect for and his concern for fellow Vietnam veterans followed him through his post Vietnam life. He was a career employee with Bell South retired after 34 years as a service technician. Murphy was very passionate about his country, the military and the Clemson Tigers. Murphy attended Clemson United Methodist Church.
In addition to his loving and devoted wife, Fran, Murphy was survived by his daughter, Allyson Moseley Varn and her husband, Luke of Greenville; brother, John Moseley and his wife, Netta of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Mary Tucker of Atlanta and Martha Regalis and her husband, Larry of Durham, NC; and grandchildren, Maggie Varn, Trey Varn and Olivia Varn.
Due to concerns with the Covid - 19 pandemic the family has chosen to wait until a later time and date to have funeral services for Murphy. When services are scheduled, the plans will be announced on this website.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clemson United Methodist Church or to the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.
