W. Glen Phillips

Walter Glen Phillips, 91, of 117 Heritage Lane, Powdersville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday February 5, 2008 at Countryside Village.
Mr. Phillips was born in Anderson County, a son of the late William E. and Annie Bryant Phillips. He retired from Charleston Air Force Base and as a hobby was an aircraft pilot. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II and a faithful member of Tremont Church of God.
Surviving are his son, Charles E. Phillips and his wife Lane, of Easley ; daughters, Shirley Stitely, of Melbourne, Florida and Helen Stubbles, of Mason, Ohio ; brothers, Tom Phillips, of Mauldin, Dock Phillips, of Greenville, Frank Phillips, of Summerville and Archie Phillips, of California ; a sister, Ruth McCarley, of Iva ; 7 grandchildren ; 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby A. Stewart Phillips.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Tremont Church of God conducted by the Reverend Tim A. Kerns and the Reverend J. Robert Gibson. Burial will follow in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends Friday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at the church.
