Weldon Thomas "Tommy" Holliday, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at his home due to complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church. Tommy was a longtime resident of Central and graduated from D.W. Daniel High School in 1957.
He retired from Michelin Tire Company in Sandy Springs after 31 years working as a Trouble Shooter Mechanic. Tommy also retired as a Staff Sergeant with the SC National Guard after 39 years of service. He was last assigned to the C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 263rd Air Defense Artillery in Clemson, SC where he was the Head Cook and everyone's friend. He was also a Master Mason and member of Central Lodge #229.
Tommy is survived by his son and caretaker, Thomas Rocky Holliday; a sister, Joan Zink Stephens from Powdersville; four grandchildren; Lorren, Brooke, Jordan, and Maddison; and two great grandchildren; Scarlet and Jax; a special nephew, Dr. Freddie Zink; and a special cousin Deborah Blackston.
Tommy was pre-deceased by his wife, Barbara Mitchell Holliday; his brother, William Ben Holliday of Gaffney; parents, Clifford and Dorsey Holliday of Central; and granddaughter, Journey.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM, Thursday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 2 PM on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
