Walker Marvin Cartee, 76, of 307 Andrew Avenue, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Pickens County, Mr. Cartee was a son of the late Reverend Ernest Walker and Dessie McQueen Cartee. He graduated from Easley High School and retired from the Post Office. Mr. Cartee was a member of First Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the Army National Guard.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Kathryn Hamilton Cartee, of the home; two sons, Marvin Cartee, of Laurens and Tim Cartee of Easley; one brother, Bieman Cartee, of Pickens; one sister, Montez Smith of Seneca; and three grandchildren, Kevin Cartee, Bryan Cartee, and Megan Cartee. He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Cartee.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with the Reverend Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
