Wallace R. Garrett, 81, husband of Marilyn Merck Garrett, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 7, 2021. He was born in Greenville County July 28, 1940, a son of Ivan T. and Olivia Brewer Garrett.
Wallace was a lifelong learner. He attended college for a couple years and was always studying to learn more. Wallace spent 9 ½ years serving his country in US Army. He worked many years in the textile industry and retired from J. P. Stevens. Wallace was an artist. He could draw, and he enjoyed photography, especially taking pictures of birds! More than anything Wallace loved his family.
Wallace is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn of Williamston; a son, Chris Garrett of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Kim Bruce and husband, Jeff of Williamston; three brothers, Buddy, Roger, and Wayne Garrett; a sister, Lulabelle Ladd; four grandchildren, Leah Garrett, Brent, Austin, and Kaylyn Bruce; and a great grandchild, Rylan Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, August 10, at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
