Henry Wallace Hunnicutt, 84, formerly of Grace Avenue, husband of the late Julia Bates Hunnicutt, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Monroe, NC after several years of declining health.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Henry Grace and Maggie Morgan Hunnicutt, Mr. Hunnicutt was the former owner of Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca and was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, where he belonged to the McCall Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a sister, Nell Watson of Pickens; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy M. Bates and Frances B. Vaughan, both of Monroe, NC, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hunnicutt was predeceased by two brothers, Will Hunnicutt and Durant Hunnicutt, and by a sister, Margaret Barker.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Easley, with Rev. Dr. John Adams, Rev. David Turner and Rev. Dr. Lloyd Batson officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The McCall Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts along with Dr. E.W. Rabon, Dr. Boyce Tollison, W.C. Crane, Jr., Don VanMeter, Ansel Deadwiler and Ben Fields.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 PM Saturday in the chapel parlor of the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
