Easley
James Walter "Walt" Belt, 86, of Pleasant Drive, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late J.F. and Mary Lesley Belt, Mr. Belt retired from the Easley Mill Plant of Woodside Mills and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men's Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy.
Surviving are a son, Danny Belt and wife, Marie; two grandchildren, Tim Belt and Wife, Misty, and Kim Diffee and husband, Jamey; and three great-grandchildren, Breeanna Belt, Daniel Belt and Alexander Diffee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Belt was predeceased by his wife, Louise Pace, and by brothers, Riley, Luke and Charlie Belt and sisters, Maggie Capps, Pearl Gillespie and Ellamae Kennomore.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family is at the residence.
