Walter Spear Hammond, III, 44, of Taylors, SC passed away Wednesday, July 10th at his home.
He was born in Camden, SC, a son of Carl Ann Lightfoot Van Wie of Anderson, SC and the late Walter Spear Hammond, Jr. and stepfather Lyle Van Wie. He was a 1996 graduate of Boston College and he loved tennis, music, dogs, reading and Boston College football.
In addition to his mother, Walter is survived by his girlfriend, Susan Hall of the home; sisters, Elizabeth Team and Debbie Hammond both of Anderson, SC and Amy Kinard (Neal) of Charleston, SC; nieces and nephews, Abigail Stroud (Garrett) of Atlanta, GA, Adam Team (Kristina) of Greenville, SC, Morgan Team of Central, SC, Madeline Kinard of Anderson, SC and Turner Kinard of Charleston, SC; cousins, Kate Cole (Darrell) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Elizabeth Hammond (Ed) of New York, NY; and his beloved dog, Kellie.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, July 13, 2019 in the Mausoleum of Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
