Dr. Walter Lee Howard, 87, of 115 Doelling Court, went to be with the Lord Friday December 28, 2007 at his home.
Dr. Howard was born in Greenville, a son of the late Doc Benjamin and Elizabeth Allsep Howard. He attended Furman University and retired as a Pharmacist after serving with several pharmacies and later at St. Francis Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II having served with the 10th Mountain Division and was a former Commander of the D.A.V. Dr. Howard was an active member of Tremont Church of God and the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Crisp Howard, of the home ; a son, Danny Howard and his wife, Sheila, of Easley ; two daughters, Phyllis Ruffman and her husband, Matt, of Taylors and Diane Alexander and her husband, Roy, of Greenville ; a brother, Carl Howard, of Greenville, a sister, Doris Moore and her husband, Robert, of Greenville ; grandchildren, Brian McSwain, Shane Howard, Scott Dean, Trent Alexander and Kristy Tarallo and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Tremont Church of God with burial to follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the church.
