Walter Giles Brookshire, II, 79, of 650 Strange Road, died Sunday February 11, 2007 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Walter Giles Brookshire, Sr. and Margaret Bagwell Brookshire Holcombe. He was a Mason and a member of the Hejaz Shrine where he served as a "Hejaz Clown". He was a member of Piedmont Park Baptist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are three sons, Walter Brookshire, III and William Brookshire, both of Easley, and Thomas H. Brookshire of Altoona, AL.; two daughters, Julie King of Piedmont and Margaret Frazier of Williamston; four sisters, Betty Lucas of Washington DC, Rita Mullinix of Greenwood, Joyce Sims and Sandra King both of Simpsonville; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Debra A. Jenkins and a son Randall Scott Brookshire.

Memorial services will be 3:30 PM Sunday February 18, 2007 at Piedmont Park Baptist Church with the Reverends Martin Atkins and John Revis officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Florence National Cemetery.

Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church following the service.
