Wanda Irene Myers Goodman, 88, beloved wife and mother, died at Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC on Friday, January 19.
Born February 14, 1929 to L. Vaughn Myers and Treva Dawn Current Myers in Redkey, Indiana, she married Robert P. Goodman in 1948. She greatly enjoyed working in the university setting, first at her beloved Clemson University and later at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, until retiring in 1983. Wanda was a longtime member of Limestone Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC and volunteered at The Peach Center for many years. Wanda and Bob loved to travel, camp, and spend time with their much loved grandchildren. She was a sports fanatic, especially loving to watch the Clemson Tigers play at every opportunity.
Survivors include her brother, William V. Myers (Claryn) of Ooltewah, TN; five children and in-law children: Gary P. Goodman (Maria) of Atlantic Beach, FL; Grant A. Goodma(Sonya) of Seneca SC; Gayle G. Lever of Lewisville TX; Gloria G. Young (David) of Charlotte NC; and Gregory V. Goodman (Kim) of Duluth GA. She was exceedingly proud of her 11 grandchildren: Charity Hudnut, Leah Goodman Davis, Joshua P. Goodman, D. Reese Lever, R. Myers Lever, Casey A. Lever, David Morgan Young, Katie Young Curry, Kelly Young Puckett, Virginia C. Young, and Tyler V. Goodman, dearest great-grandchildren and devoted nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by Bob, her devoted husband of 57 years and by her much loved son-in-law, David Lever; dear sisters Joyce Myers Davis and Helen Myers Bantz; and precious great-grandchild Margaret Grace Young.
The burial service will be held at 10 am Monday January 22 at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC, followed by the Memorial Service at 11am at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family afterwards for a reception .
