Mrs. Wanda Hester Hight, 69, loving wife of the late David L. Hight, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Hester and the late Almeda Holt Hester. She was a 1973 graduate of Easley High School and attended North Greenville College. She was previously employed by First Federal and was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Wanda was full of life and loved music and traveling, but her greatest love was spending time with the love of her life, David, and her family. She never met a stranger, always welcoming someone with open arms.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Hight Whitmore and her husband, Everette, of Greenville; and her cousins, Charlotte and Rob Darrah of Dallas, TX, Susan Baker (John) of Augusta, GA, Lynsey, Ashley and Deborah Hester of Thomaston, GA; and a sister-in-law, Deb Shoaf of Anderson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, December 1, 2024 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Entombment will follow in the Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflections Mausoleum.
Active pallbearers will be Richey Massey, Patrick Raines, Johnny Taylor, Gary Patterson, Chad Knight and Heath Summey.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Wanda to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605; or to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
