Wanda Lou Grigsby Powell, 69, of 111 Heritage Ln., wife of Bob B. Powell, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born November 16, 1943 in Jefferson County, AL, she was a daughter of the late Ruby Scott Grigsby Durham. Mrs. Powell was a devoted and loving wife for nearly fifty-six years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Known to many as "Mema", she helped anyone she could by giving willingly of her time and many talents. Mrs. Powell loved flowers and could make anything look beautiful. She was a faithful member of Living Sanctuary and loved the Lord above all else.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Kim Bullard (David) of Powdersville and Katina Shirley (Tim) of Simpsonville; brother, Gary Grigsby of Spartanburg; sister, Geraldine Cooper of Anderson; grandchildren, Brittani O'Connor, Seth Powell, Dustin Bullard, Bethani Williams, Solomon Powell, Victoria Powell, Harrison Shirley, Jackson Shirley and Grayson Shirley; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Powell.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her son, William Kelly Powell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Living Sanctuary with Rev. Duree Propes officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
