Michael Wayne Smith, 54, of 119 Turpin Drive, died Saturday, December 22, 2007, in Newnan, GA.
Born in Greenville County, a son of Betty Reeves Smith of Pickens, and the late Clarence Smith, Mr. Smith graduated from Pickens High School in 1971 and from Clemson University in 1975. He was a driver for G & P Trucking Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Betsy Dodgens of the home; and two brothers, Dale Smith and wife, lori, and Don Smith, all of Pickens.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dale McCoig officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family is at the residence.
