Ronald Wayne South, Sr. 68, of 1137 Olive Street, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Kelly Station, PA, Mr. South was the son of the late Charles Winfield and Ruth Zinn South, and was formerly a welding fabrication supervisor. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Greenville.
Mr. South is survived by his wife, Kay Ginter South of the home; two sons, Ronald Wayne South, Jr. of Memphis, TN, and Gerald "Jerry" South and wife, Michele, of Easley; three sisters, Doris Conner of Sligo, PA, Virginia Lightner of Ford City, PA, and Judy Bechtel of Warren, OH ; and three grandchildren, Brad, Monica and Charles. In addition to his parents, Mr. South was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor South.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Grace Bible Church with Rev. Tom Ross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church, 3203 Old Easley Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611 or to Bible Baptist Church, 4448 N. Ridge Road West, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
The family is at the residence.
