"Bill" Wilbur Lee Blanton, 81, husband of Alice Keziah Blanton, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Regency Hospital, Greenville.
Born in Charlotte, N.C., the son of the late Bascom Byers and Pearl Price Blanton, Mr. Blanton was a graduate of High Point College, served in the United States Air Force, and was the retired owner of The Village Restaurant in McAdenville, N.C. He was also a member of Tega Cay Community Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, John R. Blanton (Barbara) of Charleston; Tony L. Grant (Yolanda) of Ft. Worth Texas; James C. Grant (Angie) of Easley; two daughters, Cathy L. Quate (Rusty) of Wake Forest, N.C.; Claire P. Williams (Mark) of Matthews, N.C.; one sister, Jean Connelly (Earle) of Troy, N.C.; ten grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blanton was predeceased by a sister, Rebecca Howland.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Dave Shorter officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
