Wilbur E. "Bill" Shearman, 94, formerly of Cortland, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Clemson Downs Health Care Center in Clemson, SC.
Born on January 14, 1922 in Lakewood, NJ, he was the son of Earl and Dorothy Turner Shearman. Wilbur served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war he was employed as an engineer with Ajax Engineering of Trenton, NJ. Twenty years later the company became Ajax Magnethermic and moved to Warren, OH. During his employment, he was responsible for developing many patents for the company.
He is survived by three daughters, Dianne (Richard) Harper of Clemson, SC, Barbara(William)Condon of Portsmouth, RI, Leslie (Kenneth) Rising of Cortland, OH; one son, Charles (Brenda) Shearman of Noblesville, IN. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Claire Johnson Shearman.
