Willa Addis Sosebee, age 91, of Seneca, SC died peacefully on November 29, 2022 at Clemson Downs. Willa was born in Oconee County on November 24, 1931 to the late Floyd and Evalona Addis. She was a graduate of Seneca High School and worked in textiles until her retirement. In retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, exercising, cooking and working in her garden.  Willa was an active member of Utica Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred “Bug” Sosebee Jr.; sisters: Rachael Richardson, Dora Holden, Vivian Milford, Ova Jean Poole, Brenda Gailliard, Winona Foster, Linona Addis and an infant sister; brothers: Bruce Addis and Harold Addis.

She is survived by her daughter Bridget Sosebee Hilley (Lamar “Bo”) of Seneca, SC and son Gregory Blake Sosebee (Jane) of Clemson, SC; their children: Vanessa Hilley of Seneca, SC; Austin Hilley of Clemson, SC; Mary Katherine Sosebee of Clemson, SC and Laura Sosebee Kozlarek (Michael) of Clemson, SC and their children, Hunter Gregory, John Blake and Liliana Katherine.  She is also survived by one sister, Beverly Dooley, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.   

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022 at Utica Baptist Church in Seneca.  Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, Sunday prior to the service at the church.

The family is at the home of the daughter, Bridget and Lamar Hilley in Seneca.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Utica Baptist Church or to the Hospice organization of your choice.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Nathan Moroski and the staff of Clemson Downs for the incredible care and compassion she received in the last years of her life.
