Rev. Willard Lee Payne, 89, of Easley, SC peacefully entered into his eternal home on Friday, June 10th after an extended illness.
Born on March 14, 1927 in Lupton County, Georgia, to the late Rev. Connie and Ethel Payne. Rev. Payne had served in the Church of God of Prophecy for more than 60 years as a senior pastor throughout the state of South Carolina.
He was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife of 64 years, Velma, step-mother, Mamie McNair, a grandson, Jordan Culbertson, brothers, Ernest and Robert, and sisters, Pearl, Marie, Lavonne, Bessie and Bernice.
He is survived by his children, John (Shelly), Keith, Anita (Bryon) and Tamera (Thomas); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray and Rondell Payne and W.O. McNair; sister, Audrey Byrd; and special caregiver Gina Payne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Monday, June 13th at East Clemson Christian Fellowship, 520 Issaqueena Trail, Clemson, SC with Rev. Chucky Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 12th at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.
The family is at the home of Anita and Bryon Culbertson, 101 Ariel Way, Easley, SC.
Memorial contributions may be made to East Clemson Christian Fellowship.
