Mr. William (Bill) Fred Benawit, Jr., 82, of 122 Christina Lane, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at his home.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Benawit was a son of the late William Fred and Elizabeth Moviel Benawit. He graduated from The Ohio State University and retired from textiles. Mr. Benawit was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served in England with the the Mighty 8th Air Force.
Surviving are one son, Mark John Benawit of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Patrick Lennon of the home; and four grandchildren, Laura Lennon, Carolyn Lennon, William Lennon, and Nolan Lennon. Mr. Benawit was predeceased by his wife, Carol London Benawit; a son, William Fred Benawit, III; and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of the Upstate, 3535 Pelham Road, Suite 101, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
