William Glenn Childers

William Glenn "Bill" Childers, of Easley and husband of Frances Elizabeth Parrott Childers, died, Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Riverside Living Center.

Born in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Henry Glenn and Queema Novice Corley Childers. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Clemson University and his Master's Degree from University of South Carolina. He was a longtime educator having retired as the Principal of Forest Acres School after 25 years in that position. Prior to being principal he taught in other schools including Gettys Middle School. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and served in Italy with the Army Air Corps during WWII.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: a sister-in-law, Eillen Childers of Kinston, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was precedeased by a brother: Howard Carroll Childers.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation from 1 to 2 PM, Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family members express their appreciation for the loving care by the staff of Riverside Living Center.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Easley, 300 East Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
