William Dusenberry DeanClemson, SCWilliam (Bill) Dusenberry Dean, 72, a longtime resident of Clemson, SC passed away on November 18, 2016 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Jordan and Virginia Dusenberry Dean. Bill was a graduate of Daniel High School and Clemson University, where he received a BS degree in 1967 and a Master’s degree in Microbiology. While at Clemson, he was a member of ROTC, the student Senate, and Sigma Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He taught high school science in Georgia and South Carolina. Bill was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church. He was a former of the Oconee Road Runners and participated in the Club's "Mountains to Coast" fundraiser run. He was particularly proud of completing the Carolina Marathon in Columbia. The family and many others remember that, even with his illness, he was always in the habit of sending thoughtful thank you notes and birthday cards. Survivors include a sister, Melissa Dean, and brothers, Jimmy (Betty) and Jordan Dean, Jr. (Cheryl), all of Clemson, and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. The family would especially like to thank the nursing staff and physicians of Lila Doyle Nursing Home, where Bill spent the last few years of his life, for all their loving care. A memorial service will be held at Clemson United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 27, at 2:00 PM.
