William Glenn Edgar

June 10, 1934 — August 24, 2011

William Glenn Edgar, 77, of 1017 Gentry Memorial Highway, went to be with the Lord Wednesday August 24, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital �?" Downtown.

Mr. Edgar was born in Oconee County, SC, a son of the late Reverend William Lewis and Sara McPherson Edgar. He retired from Amoco, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and an active member of Easley Church of God where he was a former Teacher of the Harmony Sunday School Class, a Church Elder and he served on the Church Council.


Surviving are his wife, Joyce McCall Edgar, of the home; two sons, Rickey Edgar, Sr. and Marty Edgar and his wife, Teresa, all of Easley; a daughter, Rhonda McCracken and her husband, Jeff, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four brothers, Bob Edgar, of Easley, Larry Edgar, of Columbia, Mack Edgar, of Bristol, Virginia and the Reverend Dennis Edgar, of Ft. Myers, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Edgar, of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Andrea Pharis, Erica Aiken, Rickey Edgar, Jr., Kayla Baldwin and Andrew Lowder.


Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday at Easley Church of God with the Reverend Dr. T. David Sustar and the Reverend Dr. Roger Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.


Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Sunday, prior to the service, at the church.


The family is at the home.


Members of the Harmony Sunday School Class are invited to serve as Honorary Escort for the funeral service.
