William A. Gaines, Jr. - Seneca
William Arthur Gaines, Jr., husband of Veronica R. Gaines, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at his residence. A native of Central, he was a son of the late William A. Gaines Sr. and Eloise Hutto Gaines. He graduated from Clemson with the class of '49 and remained a lifelong fan of the Clemson Tigers. He retired after 33 years of service with Ford Motor Company as an Operations Manager.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Veronica R. Gaines. He also leaves daughter, Linda A. Gaines and her husband Robert Lutz, Louisville, KY; sons, William A. Gaines III and his wife, Diane, Northville, MI; Robert A. Gaines, Fairfax, VA; sister, Martha Sue Hautala, Pendleton; grandchildren, William A. Gaines IV and his wife Chaitra Cheluvaraju, Clemson; Catherine A. Gaines; Steven A. Gaines; Laura M. Gaines; Joseph A. Gaines; Amy Fontana and her husband Steve Weibel, all of Northville, MI; Jessica E. Lutz and Matthew D. Lutz, both of Louisville, KY.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
