William Gerald Blackwell, 59, husband of Mylinda Taylor Phillips-Blackwell, of Williamston, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Born in Columbus, GA, he was a son of the late A.D. Blackwell, Jr. and the late Lavenia Merritt.
William worked in sales for Worldwide Power, Inc. He previously attended Trumpets of Zion Fellowship and later attended Beaverdam Baptist Church, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Easley.
He found great joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved singing karaoke with family and friends. He was a true handyman, who could build or fix just about anything.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons, Alex Blackwell (Anita) of Greenville and William Derrick Blackwell of Williamston; a brother, Andrew "Andy" D. Blackwell, III (Melissa) of Cayce, SC; grandchildren, Isabella and Jack; and a special uncle, Buddy Merritt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lyndsey Phillips; a brother, Tommy Blackwell; and a sister, Lucy Blackwell.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 at the funeral home.
