William Maxwell Harris

WILLIAM MAXWELL HARRIS, Jr. Salem, S.C.

William Maxwell Harris, Jr., 75, husband of Elizabeth Stine Harris, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Oak Hill, WV and was the son of the late William Maxwell Harris, Sr. and Edna Roles Harris. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and graduated from West Virginia University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He was an Eagle Scout and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was an active member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson and was a retired chemical engineer with the Union Carbide Corporation.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, William Maxwell Harris, III and his wife Karen of Sanford, NC and a grandson, William Maxwell Harris, IV. He was predeceased by a son, James Blaine Harris.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18 at 2:00pm at the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church Renovation and Repair Project, 399 College Ave., Clemson, SC 29631.
