Englewood, FL
William G. Hayes, 88, loving husband to Rena Collette Hayes, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Born in South Boston, MA, he was son to the late William T. and Irene Gilroy Hayes.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hayes is survived by sons, Stephen, Michael (Kim), Gregory, (Sandra) and Jeffrey Hayes; daughters, Kathleen Riccetelli (Pasqual) and Sharon Watson (Robert); ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren
Along with his parents, Mr. Hayes was predeceaced by sisters, Jane Todisco and Rita Yarnell.
He was a retired Army veteran who served for twenty years. He fought in the Korean War and received a purple heart and ultimately became a Major for the United States Army. Mr. Hayes was a member of VFW #782 in Burlington, VT and was of the Catholic faith.
The family will host private services at a later date.
