Mr. William Allen Hitt, 73, husband of Juanita Claudette Pierce Hitt, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the VA Medical Center, Columbia.
Born in Easley, a son of the late George Kannon and Irene Griffin Hitt, Mr. Hitt was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served in Vietnam, retired from Elcon National and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-nine years, are a son, Allen Nichols of Goldsboro, NC; three brothers, James, Johnny and Arthur Hitt, all of Easley; five sisters, Josephine H. Jameson, Linda H. Looper, Barbara H. Williams, Alma H. Jeffcoat and Gladys H. Dunlap, all of Easley; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hitt was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela and a brother George Hitt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the residence, 220 Farrs Road, Easley, SC 29640.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29601.
