William "Bill" Franklin Woolston, III, 75, of 185 Hemlock Cove Road, died Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Canandaigua, NY, Mr. Woolston was a son of the late William Franklin and Dorothy Barringer Woolston, Jr. He was a basketball star at Canadaigua Academy. Bill attended the University of Miami and upon returning from military service, he graduated from Louisiana State University. Mr. Woolston retired with Associates Financial Corporation and was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the US Army.
Bill was an avid gardener, great lover of his cats, and always had a smile on his face. He was loved deeply by his family and friends, and will be missed.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Williams Woolston of Boston, MA; two daughters, Lori W. Finley of Sunset and Suzanne Woolston Bossert of Boston, MA; a brother, John Barringer Woolston, of Pawleys Island; and four granddaughters, Erin Finley, Elizabeth Finley, Brooke Bossert and Kate Bossert.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Lori W. Finley, 185 Hemlock Cove Road, Sunset, SC 29685.
