Mr. Thomas "Tom" James, 91, husband of the late Vivian "Jimmye" Porter James, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Clue and Marie Ward James. Tom retired from the U.S. Navy after over 23 years of service and later retired from Naval Civil Service after over 15 years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, and the USS Valley Forge - "Happy Valley Reunion Club". Tom was also a member of Easley First Baptist Church where he was a part of the Young at Heart Group, and also a member of the Forever Joyful Group at Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Tom enjoyed gardening and yard work at his home, where he loved to host many social events for any occasion. He and his wife were avid world travelers and visited all 50 states. Above all, Tom loved to invest his time and wisdom into people. His kindess and mentoring encouraged many.

Surviving are a son, Rev. Ted Alan James and his wife Sharon Darley James of Easley; two granddaughters, Katherine Marie Bajsert (Michael) and Margaret Elizabeth James; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Riley; a sister-in-law, Brenda Gartman (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 27, 2021 at Easley First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM Monday, September 27, 2021 at the church.
