William Leo Kincaid, Sr., 89, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC.
Mr. Kincaid was born in Salisbury, NC, a son of the late Andrew Leo and Lily Lois Bringle Kincaid.
He was a graduate of Catawba College and Clemson University, and served 30 years in the U. S. Air Force, where he retired as a Lt. Colonel. During WWII Mr. Kincaid flew fifty missions and was awarded two purple hearts. After his retirement, he served as the assistant director for student housing at Clemson University.
Mr. Kincaid was an avid Clemson football fan, loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Sears Kincaid; a son, William L Kincaid, Jr. (Mini) of Jacksonville Beach, FL; a daughter, Deborah Powell (Terry) of Lake Greenwood, SC; a sister, Jeri Tomberlin (Worth) of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Hrabovsky, Willy (Janet) Powell, William L. (Jaquelyn) Kincaid III; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Addy and Griffin Powell, and Hannah Hrabovsky.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Old Stone Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
Memorials may be made to Catawba College, Dr. Milton L. Braun First Family Scholarship Fund, 2300 Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
