William Joseph Mills, Sr., 60, of 603 Scuffletown Road, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA, from injuries sustained in an explosion in Febuary of this year.
Born in Hannibal, MO, the son of the late William Lloyd and Helen Marie Sughru Mills, Mr. Mills was a computer consultant and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the US Marines Corps having served during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivng are a son, William J. Mills, Jr., and wife, Tara, of Houston TX; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Mills St. Clair of Hannibal, MO, and Elizabeth Nicole Mills of Houston, TX; a sister, Rhonda Jean Hunt and husband, Timothy, of Cairo, MO, a grandson, Hunter Mills; an aunt, Shirley Bridges of Hannibal, MO; nieces, Brittany Hunt Strain, Bridgett Hunt, Brianna Hunt and a great-niece, Taylor Mackenzie Strain; nephews, Larry Mills, II, and Jon Mills and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was predeceased by a brother, Larry Mills and by his step-father, John C. Hall.
Memorial services and burial, with military honors, will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, with Pastor Gene Stueve of Zion Lutheran Church, Macon, MO, officiating.
Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, Easley, SC, is assisting the family with arrangements.
