William E. Owen

William E. "Shine" Owen, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Owen was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Crayton and Ollie Gillespie Owen. He was a retired lineman for Duke Energy and a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mae Anderson Owen; two stepdaughters, Norma Collins of Anderson and Shirley O'Quinn of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Louise Berry and Edna Craig of Central; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Roger Owen; two brothers, J. C. and Tom Owen; and two sisters, Lois Gilliam and Ruth Martin.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M.

Funeral services will be Friday at 3:00 P. M. at Cannon Memorial Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Shine Owen Community Outreach Fund, c/o Cannon Memorial Baptist Church, P. O. Box 758, Central, SC 29630.
