William L. "Bill" Ray

September 20, 1943 — February 17, 2020

William L. "Bill" Ray, 76, husband for 58 years of Judith Morrison Ray passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Bill was born in Spencer, West Virginia, a son of the late William Franklin and Mary Rasner Ray. Bill was a retired superintendent for Pridemore Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, yard work and spent a lot of time in his woodworking shop.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Chris Ray and wife Trinna and Tim Ray and wife Monica all of Central; grandchildren, Hart Ray and fiance Claire Campbell, Hallie Ray, Cary Anthony Doyle, Jordan Doyle, Kassie Spurgis and Karla Chamberlain (Arliss); great grandchild, Josie Chamberlain; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ray of Bostic, NC; Brenda McAbee (Al) of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by brothers, Donnie Ray and David Ray; and sister, Patricia Evans.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM, Friday, February 21st in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central. The family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:50 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in Greenville.
