Mr. William Melvin Sanders, 71, of 354 Cartee Road, Liberty, loving husband of Anita Sanders, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.
Melvin was born in Liberty on August 30, 1943. He graduated from Liberty High School and retired from Roadway Trucking as a Supervisor after 30 years. He was a true Artist, loving any drawings, paintings or any form of the Arts. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening his Bonsai Trees, Tending to his Koi Fish, and was a master carpenter.
In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by his mother; Clara Bell Merck Sanders, of Liberty; a son; Ryan Sanders and his wife Shelly, of Easley; a brother; Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Sanders and his wife Glenda, of Liberty; and a grandchild; Drew Sanders of Easley. Melvin also is survived by two nieces; Amy Sanders Carr and her husband Jeff, of Easley, and Cara Sanders Seeten and her husband Brett of Easley; a special uncle, Grady Merck and his wife Marian, of Easley; and numerous cousins along with his extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, with the Rev. Phillip Blankenship officiating.
The Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the residence.
