William "Kimper" Simpkins

William "Kimper" Simpkins, 91, formerly of Huntington, WVA, passed away, Monday, September 11, 2018 at the Anderson Medical Hospital.
Born in Lincoln County, West Virginia, "Kimper" was a son of the late Cecil and Cousie Fannin Simpkins. He was raised by his grandparents, Silas Marion and Sarah Queen Fannin. During WWII, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He was a retired produce buyer and truck driver with Quality Fruit and Produce Company. He was a member of the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington, WVA. He recently moved to the upstate of South Carolina and lived at the Richard Michael Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home in Anderson. He loved gardening, travel, hunting in his earlier years, watching sports of all kinds, and his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter, Debby Foard (Allen) of Seneca; son, Ezra "Bear" Simpkins of Panama City Beach, FL; half-sister, Archlean Lambert of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, A.J. Foard (Melanie), Ashleigh Foard Streeter (Brandon), Elena Simpkins and Lydia Simpkins; and great grandchildren, Haley, David and Christopher Foard and Chamberlin, Foard and Mason Morgan Streeter.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Cleo Adkins Simpkins; sister, Redith Simpkins; brother, Tilmon Simpkins; and four half-sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Sunday, September 23, 2018 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central SC.
There will be graveside services that will be held on October 24th at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Huntington, WVA.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staffs at Pruitt Health in Six Mile, and especially to the caring staff on Unit 1, Richard Michael Campbell VA Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington, WVA.
