William Wright Sizemore

William Wright "Bill" Sizemore, 85, of 101 Homeland Court, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at his home.

Born in Greenville, the son of the late Willie Wright and Inez Lindsey Sizemore, Mr. Sizemore retired as a masonry instructor with the Career Center of Pickens County Vocational School. He was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, past president of the Bauknight Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart group. Mr. Sizemore was active in Pickens County Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and S.C. Volunteers in Mission. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. He was a veteran of the Pacific Theater, having served with the US Army.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Hopkins Sizemore of the home; two sisters, Broadus S. Hopkins of Easley, and Bess S. Griffith of Mt. Holly, NC; many nieces and nephews who loved him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sizemore was predeceased by a sister, Polly S. Garraux.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Easley First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Correll officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Easley First United Methodist Church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 582, Easley, SC 29641, Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1162, Pickens, SC 29671.

The family is at 202 Parkway Drive, Easley.
