William Kennedy “Ken” Stribling Sr., 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Ken was born on October 1, 1953, in Greenville, SC.
Ken was self-employed through Stribling and Associates and did contract work for Dataworks Plus until his recent illness. He loved working and considered his fellow employees to be like family. He was very thankful for the many opportunities provided by owner Brad Bylenga.
Ken also enjoyed working out, and he trained for and competed in marathons, triathlons, and family mud runs. He used his knowledge of health and exercise to serve as a personal trainer. He loved playing and watching all sports. Despite graduating from the University of South Carolina, he was lovingly converted into a Clemson fan by his three children.
Ken was wholly devoted to his children and grandchildren. He attended numerous basketball games, swim meets, and tennis matches. He was known to step in and coach if needed, and he was his children and grandchildren’s biggest fan. Papa, as he was lovingly known, never turned down an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and logged countless hours babysitting them.
In his lifetime Ken survived a traumatic head and neck injury, quintuple bypass heart surgery, throat cancer, and the loss of his youngest child. Despite these trials, he held steadfastly to his faith and showed a relentless determination to persevere, even in his final days.
Ken is preceded in death by his beloved son, Jake Stribling; devoted grandparents, Marie and William Kennedy; and stepfather, Lewis Martin, Sr.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Terri Stribling, Ken will be missed and lovingly remembered by: daughter, Brantley Goforth and son-in-law, Austin; son, Kennedy Stribling, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tara; five precious grandchildren, Charlotte Goforth, Jack Goforth, Reed Goforth, Marleigh Hill, and Olivia Stribling; mother, Judy Martin; sister, Tammy Day; and brother, Lewis Martin, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church. A celebration of Ken’s life will follow at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Siloam Baptist Church Legacy Fund for missions at https://siloambaptist.org.
The family would like to thank hospice nurse Kristi Stratton for her tender care during Ken’s final days here on earth; their neighbors for their care and support; and Pastor Troy Harrison for his guidance and love.
