William “Steve” Suttle, 82, husband of the late Barbara Ann Suttle, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Born in Greer, Steve was the son of the late George W. and Etta C. Suttle. He proudly served in the United States Army for four years and was a devoted member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he especially loved his Sunday school class. His love for Jesus, his family, and his community were the cornerstones of his life.
Steve retired from Piedmont Natural Gas after 40 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he and Barbara built a life full of love, laughter, and new adventures. Together, they found joy in flipping houses, a venture that reflected their strong partnership and shared passion for creating beauty and warmth wherever they went. Their 63-year marriage was a true testament to devotion and friendship.
Surviving are his children, Deborah L. Johnston (Steve),Randall S. Suttle (Cindy), and Kristie A. Hannon (Shane); his sister, Diane Parham (Marion); six grandchildren, Steven Johnston (Tara), Chris Johnston (Kelsey), Clarissa Suttle, Kelsey Spearman (Lakon), Kara Williams (Stacey), and Harlee Johnston; and eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Ike, Stella, and Wyatt, Bryson, Emmett, and Owen and Davis.
In his later years, Steve built strong bonds with the caregivers and staff at Oakview Park, where he was dearly loved and where his warm spirit left a lasting impression. His family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Oakview Park team for the compassion and care they provided.
A graveside service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
