William LeRoy Welsh Sr.

William LeRoy Welsh Sr., passed away on December 23rd, 2024.

William was born in Columbia and later graduated from Spring Valley High School. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina, where he earned his degree at the School of Journalism in 1976.

William worked as a Social Worker and Counselor at the Babcock Center in Columbia. He served the community for many years through the Babcock Center offering a wide range of services to support individuals, caretakers, and family members for people with life-long disabilities.

William was a member of the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Epiphany, where he served as an acolyte.

William had a passion for the arts, films, and literature.

William is survived by Son, William L. Welsh Jr., and Great Friend Jim Wittington.
