William Whelan Sr.
Easley
William Robert Whelan Sr., 82, of Easley, husband of the late Lavonia Myree Jones passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Richard Campbell Veterans Home.
Born in Englewood, NJ, Mr. Whelan was a son of the late Joesph Edward Whelan Sr. and Jeanette Kraus Whelan. He retired from G.B. Nalley Constrution and was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Whelan was a member of the Bates Loodge 189, Hejaz Temple, past president of the Pickens County Shrine Club and a charter member of the Easley Moose Lodge 2219.
Surviving are two sons, William R. Whelan Jr. and Donald R. Whelan; a daughter, Bonnie Lee Whelan (Parris); and one grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Whelan was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Edward Whelan.
The family would like to thank the staff of Richard Campbell Veterans Home for their care for Bill.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2013 at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Vistation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Thursday, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Family memebers are at their respective homes.
