William David White, 82, of Piedmont, SC passed away on November 20, 2021.
Mr. White was a retired banker with years served at SC National Bank, Nations Bank, Bankers Trust and Bank of America. He spent 45 years on Pendleton Street serving the people of Greenville County where he began as a bank teller until he retired in 1998 as Banking City Manager, Vice President for Bank of America. David never met a stranger and was always willing to share a story or joke to make you smile.
He was a 1957 graduate of Blue Ridge HS and attended Bob Jones University. Mr. White was a SC State Constable, SC Notary Public, Lions Club Member, member of American Bankers Association, Greenville Chamber of Commerce and SC Bankers Association. He was a lifelong member of McNeely Memorial PH Church (now The Carpenters House) in Powdersville. He served as the Church Choir Director for 20 years and the Church Treasurer for 58 years. David blessed many people with his musical talent of trumpet playing for over 60 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Baldwin (Flint) of Seneca and Jill Altland (Carl) of Williamston; brothers, James White and Frank White; a sister, Virginia Graydon; grandchildren, Lauren Ford (Will), Lindsay Wicks (Kyle) and Josh Altland (Amanda); and four great grandchildren, Emmeline, Lilly, Leighton and baby Ford due May 2022.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alonzo and Blanche White; his loving wife of 55 years, Etta; sister, JoAnn Goodsell; and brother, Wilbur.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
