Willie Poovey Rader, 76, faithful and loving wife of 58 years to the late Joe U. Rader, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Born in Hickory, NC, she was a daughter of the late Carl Preston and Dennis Clonninger Poovey. She was a floral designer and her children enjoyed how she could inspire people with her floral arrangements for people's weddings. Mrs. Rader was a member of Pendleton United Methodist Church and the Garden Club of Pendleton.
Surviving are her two daughters, Jan Rader, Joan Songer, both of Taylors; two brothers, Lamar Poovey of Springfield, TN, Troy Poovey of Alamogordo, NM; a sister, Nancy Glover of Aiken; and five grandchildren, Jeremiah Sexton, Austin Sexton, James Sexton, Joseph Songer, and Bethany Songer.
A memorial service will be 4 PM Sunday at Pendleton United Methodist Church with Reverend Ben Barnette officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salkahatchie Ministry of SC United Methodist Church; c/o Rev. John Culp; 1500 Broad River Rd; Columbia, SC 29210.
