Catherine Willine Southerland Garrison, 90, of Easley, formerly of 22 Second Street, Greenville, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.
Born in Piedmont, Mrs. Garrison was a daughter of the late Lawrence Monroe and Kitty Guffie Sutherland. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church and a former member of West Greenville Baptist Church. Mrs. Garrison worked in textiles including Piedmont Shirt Factory in Greenville.
Surviving are three brothers, J. Lowell Southerland and Harold E. Southerland, both of Easley and Lawrence "Pee Wee" Southerland of Anderson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrison was predeceased by her husband, Mark Dendy Garrison; three brothers, Truman, Jack, and Billy Southerland; a half-brother, Haywood Sutherland; and three sisters, Lillie Oates, Hazel Robinson, and Mildred McCollum.
Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Street Baptist Church, 114 Robinson Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the home of a brother, Harold Southerland, 208 Biltmore Road, Easley, SC 29640.
