Wylene Galloway king

Mrs. Wylene Galloway King, 102, wife of the late Arvel Kendall King, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born April 10, 1924 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar S. Galloway, Sr. and the late Lou Annie Bryant Galloway. She attended Pickens High School and retired from Alice Manufacturing Company. Mrs. King was a lifelong member of United Wesleyan Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School in the early years. She was one of thirteen children.

Wylene loved sewing, reading and singing, but her greatest love was for her family and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew her.

She was predeceased by a son, Doug King; four brothers, Winfred Galloway, Oscar S. Galloway, Jr., Dewey Galloway and Joe Galloway; and eight sisters, Eulalia Gause, Christine Cochran, Bernice Mosley, Eunice Bagwell, Dillie Everingham, Annas Houston, Onese Galloway and Gerlene Galloway.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rosemary Thomas (Bruce) of Columbia; her sons, Stan King (Gail), Phil King (Gail), and Hendrix King (Janice), all of Easley; fourteen grandchildren, Russell King (Tammy), Melinda Savage (David), Dr. Charles King (Wendy), Mandy Norris (Patrick), McClure King (Mackenzie), McCreight King (Sarah Kathryn), McClain King (Kristy), Dobson King, John King (Kristian), Brian Mercier (Hileri), Ginger Cash (Brett), Meredith Anderson (Ricky), Angela Thomas and E.C. Thomas; twenty four great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 8, 2026 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM Monday, June 8, 2026 at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. King to United Wesleyan Church, 708 Rice Road, Easley, SC 29640.

The family would like to express their gratitude to caregivers Tiffany Caldwell, Denise Stone, Rosevelyn Cooper, Linda Brownlow, Sharon McCraney and Clarene Bowens for the love and care they have provided for Mrs. King.
