Yvonne Kinsey Cooley

Yvonne Kinsey Cooley, 79, of Greenville, South Carolina, loving wife of William Cooley, Sr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home.

Born on December 31, 1945, in Decatur, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lester Kinsey, Sr. and Mattie Davis Kinsey. A proud graduate of Sterling High School in Greenville, South Carolina. Yvonne's career began at Southern Bank on Grove Road in Greenville, South Carolina, where she worked as a bank teller for many years, before retiring from Bank of America. Her dedication to service didn’t stop at her professional endeavors. In her retirement, she found joy in working at Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she delivered meals to patients, ensuring that those in need were nurtured with warmth and care. Yvonne was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her huge heart welcomed everyone, and she had an innate ability to make people feel special and loved. Yvonne's passion for cultivating familial bonds reflected her belief that love and connection are the greatest treasures one can possess. For 44 years, Yvonne was actively involved with the Greenville Chapter of Las Amigas Incorporated, reflecting her commitment to the community and her desire to uplift those around her. Her faith also played a vital role in her life. As a devoted member of Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Greenville, Yvonne shared her beautiful voice as a member of the choir, adding her own touch of grace to the church and the lives of those she sang alongside. As we remember Yvonne Kinsey Cooley, we celebrate a life lived with intention, love, and generosity. Her legacy will undoubtedly continue through the many hearts she touched along her journey. She will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. May her spirit live on in our memories and our hearts.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by two sons, William Cooley, Jr. (Cherrie), and Michael Cooley (Nikki); two brothers, Lester Kinsey, Jr. and Anthony; a sister, Yolanda; four grandchildren, Daray Cooley (Margaret), Devante Cooley (Rebecca), Dreydyn Cooley, and Daelyn Cooley; five great-grandchildren, Charlie Ann, Reed, Landon, Makenzie, and Madelyn; as well as a special caregiver, Lexus Morton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, William Kinsey.
